Lana Wachowski Post-Op Transsexual Director
12/6/2013
Shemale London Escorts Blog
In a week where it's become apparent that the LGBT community is still a snail's pace behind the rest of the world, as the backlash to the Tom Daley gay announcement delivered a plethora of disgusting tweets and online abuse, we thought it was about time to start celebrating prominent LGBT members of society that are out and proud.
Whilst there may be many Gay or Lesbian actors, sports personalities or celebrities around, there is still a distinct lack of Transgender, Transsexual or Transvestite representation in mainstream media. Our shemale escorts may stand out and proud, but the one person who does buck this trend is the famous director Lana Wachowski.
One of the Wachowski brothers (now Wachowski siblings), Lana Wachowski began her transition from Larry as early as 2002. Having spent the majority of her life living as a man, Lana had always felt that she was in the wrong body.
Like many Transsexual cases, she was chastised for her beliefs and supressed all of her feelings in order to be 'normalised'. During an emotional speech at a Human Rights Campaign’s gala fundraising dinner in San Francisco, she confessed that as a teenager she almost committed suicide by jumping in front of a train, and that during her childhood she had been ostricised by others, and severely beaten by a nun.
When in school she had to line up in one of two lines - boys and girls. When walking along to get into line she felt a strong association with the girls, wanting to belong, a gravity towards their femininity. Whereas the boy's line presented her with a dissonance, a disassociation. Dallying in between the two, the nun spotted her and proceeded to beat her for not fitting in like the rest of the children. It was from this point that she realised she was different.
Between 2002 and her eventual coming out, Lana was engaged in a relationship with Dominatrix Karin Winslow, who allowed her to explore her sexuality, strengthening her resolve and determining her to eventually undertake the gender reassignment operation.
During the years after the rumours began, Lana kept herself to herself as she underwent the transition. It was only in late 2012 that she felt she finally had the strength to step out to the world's media. Having been living as a woman for those years, and having been open with her friends and family, it was a matter of time, and something she was very much anxious about.
Talking about her final acceptance of this fact, and having the courage to stand on the stage eventually earned Lana a Human Right's Campaign's Visibility Award in 2012, as she symbolised the freedom from mental constraints that heteronormative society can force on TV, TS and TG people.
We can only hope that there are many more that will eventually follow suit. Perhaps one of our Transsexual escorts in London will eventually make it to the mainstream? Who do you think it could be?
